We are delighted to have added the Nano Dimension DragonFly IV to SEAM’s growing advanced manufacturing capability.
The DragonFly IV is an , designed to manufacture complex electronic structures by printing conductive and dielectric materials together. This opens up new possibilities for rapid development of electronic devices, PCB-type structures and innovative 3D electronic geometries,
For companies developing new electronic products, one of the biggest advantages is the ability to move much more quickly from design to physical prototype.
Rather than relying solely on conventional PCB manufacturing routes, the DragonFly IV allows engineers to rapidly manufacture and evaluate electronic designs in-house, supporting faster iteration, testing and development.
The system can support the creation of complex electronic features including conductive traces, vias and multilayer structures, while also enabling electronic functionality to be integrated into three-dimensional designs.

For SEAM, this is an important addition because it strengthens our ability to support companies throughout the product-development journey — from initial design and engineering through prototyping, testing, analysis and refinement.
Potential applications include:
- rapid PCB and electronic prototyping
- development of novel electronic devices
- sensors and embedded electronics
- antennas and RF applications
- custom electronic geometries
- low-volume R&D and proof-of-concept development
Combined with SEAM’s existing expertise in engineering simulation, materials characterisation, mechanical testing and X-ray CT, the DragonFly IV gives us another powerful tool for helping companies develop, test and improve new products.
This latest investment reflects SEAM’s continued focus on giving industry access not only to advanced technologies, but also to the engineering expertise required to turn those technologies into practical solutions.
If you are developing a new electronic product, PCB, sensor or prototype and would like to explore how additive manufacturing could shorten your development cycle, we would be very happy to discuss your project.
