Contract Duration: 24 months
Commencement Date: Immediate
To work on the ongoing Disruptive Technology Innovation project and assist in meeting the project objectives & deliverables.
To assist in the development & fabrication of Additive Manufacturing components and other Engineering solutions for wide ranging sectors
A panel may be formed from the competition from which future vacancies may be filled.
|Bachelors in Materials / Mechanical /Metallurgial/Related Engineering||Post graduate in Materials/Mechanical Engineering|
|Minimum 2 years proven diagnostic / industrial/ research experience in materials/mechanical engineering field after bachelors degree
|2-3 experience in Additive Manufacturing field.
Familiarity with common engineering material properties and processing attributes
Experience in product design concepts
Experience in writing failure analysis reports
Some experience in writing proposals for funding agencies
|Specific knowledge and skills
|Knowledge on additive manufacturing processes
Problem solving skills
Diligent recording of outputs of work activity
|Demonstrated capability in the working/handling of various analytical and test equipment
Project Management skills
|Proven experience in the use of CAD software
Ability to use/learn AM equipment control software
Ability to use/learn data analysis software.
|Specific Personal Qualities
|Good communication and Presentation skills.
Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a wider team.
Good interpersonal skills
Salary: €33,967 – €45,942 in accordance with IUA Researcher Salary Scale

- To assist in the development, fabrication and post processing of materials of Additive Manufacturing
- To assist in characterising the 3D printed parts in terms of their mechanical, thermal and chemical properties.
- Support SEAM staff in Failure Analysis work and writing proposals for various funding agencies
- Support SEAM Centre Director in growing the centre’s business activities
- Hands on experimental work and critical analysis of the results
- Writing project reports for stakeholders
